ABSTRACT

The Special Session will focus on studies on the motivation of women to study in the area of engineering solutions for technical defense, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence and research results in these areas realized by women in engineering. Topics as hardware logical encryption, light weigh Internet of Things (IoT) encryption, hybrid methods, Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for cybersecurity in microgrids and implementation of cryptosystems will be considered.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS

Galia Marinova Associate professor, Ph.D., IEEE CAS and WIE Senior member, Vice-chair of IEEE CAS/SSC Chapter and Chair of the IEEE WIE AG in Bulgaria
Galia Marinova graduated as engineer with Master degree in electronics in 1988 in the Faculty of Radioelectronics (later splitted in Faculty of electronics, Faculty of Telecommunications and Faculty of Computer science) in Technical University-Sofia. She received a Ph.D. degree in 1994 in the Faculty of electronics in TUS with title of the Ph.d. thesis “Statistical approach, methods and tools for computer-aided design in electronics”. G.Marinova did one year post-doctoral research in CNAM-Paris, France in 1999/2000. She has 12 doctoral students. G. Marinova is author and co-author of more than 100 scientific papers, mainly in the area of computer-aided design in electronics and telecommunications. She’s coordinator of CEEPUS network project: CIV-BG-1103-10-2526 Modelling, Simulation and Computer-aided Design in Engineering and Management. She has experience as coordinator of several Erasmus+ projects with program and partner countries. She’s coordinator of IoT-ECO CBHE Erasmus+ project, contact person for TU-Sofia in CYBERCITY a practical approach to teach and learn cybersecurity in smart cities 2023-1-IT02-KA220-HED-000157723 and is also involved in some other national and international educational and research projects, like DRILA project in cooperation with CentraleSupelec, Rennes, France. She is participating in NATO Science for peace projects.

Vassil G. Guliashki is currently a Full Professor at the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IICT - BAS), department “Information Processes and Decision Support Systems”. He earned his Master of Science (Automation and System-Technique) at Technical University – Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1988 and his PhD in Technical Cybernetics from the Institute of Information Technologies – BAS (IIT – BAS) in 1994. In his thesis work entitled “Algorithms for Solving Convex Nonlinear Integer Programming Problems” he created a Tabu Search heuristic algorithm for single objective problems and an interactive reference direction algorithm for multiple objective problems.
In 2009, V. Guliashki accepted an Associate Professor position at the IIT – BAS, and a Full Professor position at the IICT - BAS in 2022. The main research areas of Vassil Guliashki are Discrete Optimization, Meta heuristic strategies, Evolutionary algorithms, Multiple Objective Programming, Decision Support Systems, Linear Discriminant Analysis, Combinatorial optimization. He participates in solving many practical problems by means of single and MCDM approaches.
